"Wall of Human and Cultural Rights" in the Barcelona
International Convention Center.

The image above is projected a large wall inside Convention Center. It was the one of the first exhibit's that greeted us as we arrived at the Peace Congress. Written in four different languages the exhibit set the theme of culture, dialog and humanity that the Forum was about.

The Dialogue “Towards a World Without Violence” which the Fundació per la Pau organized together with the International Peace Bureau within the Forum Barcelona 2004 framework is now history.

During five days, up to 1003 people have attended the different sessions programmed in the Dialogue: sessions, round tables, debates, workshops and cultural performances which represented a total of 90 activities and gathered a little over 80 speakers of all continents. This has been the biggest encounter of the world peace movement after the ‘Call for Peace’ in The Hague in 1999.

The Dialogue was a large gathering of entities and proposals which made possible new relations and future collaborations between the organizations and groups which were present. It promoted and strengthened the action networks within the movement for world peace.

Christina Alexander, USCPAA Founder and Conference Organizer Ashleigh Arledge from the International peace Bureau in Geneva, Switzerland.

When we arrived at the Forum we were impressed by the amount of security at the entrance. Everyone in attendance had to go threw two security checks to get into the event.

We had to go through third security
check to gain entrance into the conference
center. Despite the level of security all the
Forum Staff were both gracious and
courteous.

Here we are with Eduardo. He was
our very favorite (host) interpreter
at the Forum. He enjoyed all our
curious question's about the
Spanish culture. We were happy
to answer any questions about
Canada and America for him.

Complimentary internet services
were provide for all the conference
presenters and participants.

A giant hand carved chess set was one of the featured exhibits
in the Barcelona International Conference Center.

This is where we checked out
our translation headsets.

The conference rooms were complete with multimedia screens, closed circuit television, sign language and translation booths.

People attended the conference from around the world. The official languages at the conference were spanish and english.

The conference format consisted of both individual and group presentations and round tables discussions. Each presentation was followed by a question and answer period with the audience.

Peace Arch International Park Presentation

Here is our set up prior to our presentation. We tested our slide show and DVD. We had problems with the differences between North American computer systems and European Computer systems.

It was difficult at times but we made it through the presentation. It is Unfortunate because of the computer glitches we were unable to get pictures of during the Peace Arch Park Presentation.

Post presentation round table discussion and Question
and Answer period at the end of the session.
