Hello to the first grade students at
Lathrop Elementary School in Missouri!

The Lathrop Elementary School Gingerbread Man visited the
Peace Arch State Park and the Peace Arch City of Blaine, WA, in early January 2005.
Our dear friend is now on his way back to his classroom in the Lathrop Elementary School to share his adventures in Washington State with his fellow students. He is bringing a copy of the Portal of Peace curricula to the school. Thank you, Treinton Head, for sending Mr. Gingerbread Man to our town.

The International Peace Arch stands astride the international boundary between Douglas, British Columbia and Blaine, Washington. "The Peace Arch Rises", one foot anchored in American soil and the other in Canadian, and stands as a physical symbol of an imaginary line that stretches 3000 miles. Poised above both countries the Peace Arch represents the longest undefended boundary in the world. The video details the history of the Peace Arch from it's creation to present day, and it includes historic film footage from the Arch's dedication in 1921, by Samuel Hill, famed lawyer, financier, road builder and humanitarian. Running time 23 minutes. (All Ages)
