The United State Canada Peace Anniversary Association (USCPAA) is pleased to announce that its Founder, Christina Alexander, has been invited to participate in the World Culture Open 2004 Competition in Seoul, Korea.  The World Culture Open (WCO) Organizing Committee is an international, non-profit organization that brings people together to share their cultural experiences and traditions in settings that are open and free of political divisions.

The World Culture Open 2004 will be a biennial global festival, celebrating the experiences of humanity at their best, and beginning a journey leading towards peace, harmony and reconciliation.  The three fields of cultural endeavor emphasized by the organization are the creative arts, holistic well being, and humanitarian service.    The event will be staged for nine days, from September 11-19, in Seoul, South Korea, and Pyongyang, North Korea.  Participants have been selected from all over the world to exchange information about their diverse cultures and heritage.

Ms. Alexander has been invited as a representative of both Canada and the United States.  She will compete in the HUMANITARIAN SERVICE COMPETITION along with 12 other contestants from around the world. The topic of her presentation, "Building a world of peace, harmony and service to humanity," highlights her work with the International Peace Arch. She will conclude by singing  “Children of a Common Mother,” her original composition about the Peace Arch and the unity of humankind.

The USCPAA was founded in 1995 to organize the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Dedication of the Peace Arch monument in the Peace Arch Heritage Park (U.S.) and the B.C. Provincial Park  (Canada) on whose border it stands.  The gates are inscribed with the words "May These Gates
Never Be Closed."
